We’ve all heard it “I’ve found my forever home” but I really didn’t know what that meant until it
happened. Raised in rural Nebraska in a small farming town of 580 people I just knew I wanted to someday live in the South where you weren’t locked indoors for months at a time because it was just too cold to go outside and you didn’t want to get that snowblower out to get out of your driveway. I eventually got my chance after moving to Des Moines, IA where I had worked my way up to terminal manager for a national trucking company. In 2013 I was offered a promotion to manage the Mobile, AL Terminal so we loaded up and although site unseen ventured to Daphne, AL and have never looked back.
In 2014 I was offered another promotion that was demanding and included travel 3 out of 4 weeks a month so after almost four years decided to start a new adventure that would be close to home to have quality family time. I took a job with a home builder and worked in the Closing and Marketing Departments and got to see the joy of buyers throughout the process of buying a new home. My husband, Josh, has also worked in banking, mortgage and title so we decided why not get our real estate license to be able to use the knowledge that we both have learned to give both buyers and sellers a great experience while going through the real estate transaction process.
We both agree there are things we may have done differently when purchasing our home had we had the guidance and personal connection when we purchased. Such as finding out more of what we liked to do for hobbies, school systems, dog parks and things that meant so much to us and putting us close to activities which would make our time more efficient. The one thing we would not change is the area we live because it truly is a blessing to live and be a part of communities that are so committed to making things better for everyone who is lucky enough to call this home.
